Prayer and Faith
One day as Jesus was walking towards Jerusalem, He saw a fig tree by the side of the road. He walked over to it, but there were no figs on the tree. He cursed the tree and it withered. His disciples were amazed. Jesus tells them, "Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." (Matthew 21:21,22 - King James Version)
Doubt or unbelief is a great hindrance to our prayers. How can we expect God to answer our prayers when we do not believe that He will? God requires that we have faith in Him. We must build up our faith by trusting God in little ways; by praying for little things. As we see God answer our little prayers then we will have the faith to move up to greater prayers and truly see amazing results.
